Rice on the menu at KFC in China
 |
Going by their recent slogan "Changing for China", KFC has introduced rice set menus in their restaurants in China. Unlike McDonald’s which is pretty much the same in every country you go, KFC has been making efforts to "go local" in China. Two of the earliest he earliest menu is "Bacon Mushroom Chicken Rice" followed by "Ingenious Spicy Chicken Rice" and "Black pepper beef rice tenders".
The move comes after the American Fast Food chain successfuly introduced traditional porridge, fried dough sticks, and sesame seed cakes. The new rice menus are a combination of Western and Chinese taste.
A few years ago KFC also unveiled its "Old Beijing Twister" - a wrap modeled after the way Peking duck is served, but with fried chicken, spring onions and hoisin sauce, and has been a huge success.
The new rice menus are in average 18 RMB, which is close to any of the existing burger menus, and really close to Chinese fast food. So it is relatively a cheap option in case you are in a hurry, but want to eat Chinese style.
n the other hand, KFC is expanding its product development system to further provide consumers with greater choice of products.
